The simple silhouette consists of four long panels and a wide, rolled ribbon that hugs the waist. It is made of slightly transparent white cotton batiste, resembling a canvas to emphasise the interrelation with its print. The panels of the skirt are screen-prints of minimally photoshopped X-rays of paintings such as "El Coloso" or the "Portrait of Doña Isabel de Porcel" by Francisco de Goya. Inside is a form-fitting black woolen jacket. The result is a balanced garment that embraces the simplicity of form and the mystery of darkness.

Balenciaga and Goya

“A recurring theme in my research was the discovery that, as a fashion designer, Balenciaga was unconcerned by anything other than creating his garments. This reclusive trait is what inspired my design concept. Joining the worlds of Balenciaga and Goya is how I chose to express the idea of creative mystery and the introverted character it requires”.
