From the motorway, take the road exit N-634. At the roundabout in front of the Gudarien Enparantza Square, you will see the first signs for the Museum. These signs lead visitors down Sahatsaga Street, parallel to the Museum.
The Museum does not have visitor parking. However, you may park in municipal parking spots in the area, or the port parking lot (this latter option requires parking metre payment during summer months).
In view of the fact that parking can be difficult in Getaria during summer, we
recommend that you check the parking areas beforehand and that you arrive early,
particularly if you have purchased a ticket for a specific time.
There is a limited number of parking spots reserved for individuals with reduced mobility who hold a card proving this condition near the Museum. Please notify the Museum beforehand to manage arrivals and departures.
El entorno
Se localiza a tan solo 29 kilómetros de la capital del territorio, Donostia-San Sebastián, en la comarca guipuzcoana de Urola Kosta, que comprende las localidades de Orio, Zarautz, Aia y Zumaia. Este enclave está formado por espectaculares laderas erosionadas que constituyen el fenómeno geológico denominado flysch.
Getaria ha sido, tradicionalmente, un pueblo de pescadores, de marinos y de grandes navegantes como Juan Sebastián Elcano, primer hombre que dio la vuelta al mundo. El patrimonio histórico de la localidad es importante. Y también resulta altamente atractivo el entorno natural, conformado por barrios rurales que constituyen un idílico balcón sobre el cantábrico.
