This coat, with its vertical lines and geometric structure, is centred around tailoring techniques. It is double-breasted at the front with a circular neckline, and made out of wool. Each side of the front is made out of three vertical pieces that follow the shape of the body. The side seam is moved to the front to give the illusion of a slimmer silhouette. The back is made out of two pieces; the centre line curved to achieve a more rounded shape. The bodice inside is connected to the side seam which helps create the form fitting shape at the front and volume at the back.

The importance of tailoring

“A well-tailored garment does not only show the attention to detail paid but also emanates grace and elegance, something we are currently missing in a world of fast fashion, and which makes it even more important to keep the tradition going and share the great knowledge of tailoring”.
