Habitat 67, a housing complex designed by Moshe Safdie in Montreal, is the inspiration for this project. The housing units are stacked and adjusted on one another connected freely in a seemingly random pattern. It is precisely that aesthetic of the combination of concrete and repetitive forms that is applied to the design of this piece.

“Exaggerated functionality is the idea on which I have based my proposal and which has finally led me to reinterpret the so-called semi-fitted silhouette. The masterful use of space is what fascinates me about Balenciaga's creations”.

Semifit

The design of the pockets resembles the housing modules from Moshe Safdie's sketches. Placing them on both hips and on the back, they seek to reproduce the proportions of the semi-fitted Balenciaga jacket.

It is made of thin, light cotton that is covered with a water-based metal to provide structure and create a beautifully rough surface. The inner layer is made of the same cotton with which the flux base is cut. Due to the nature of coated cotton, both layers have been sewn simultaneously.
