The student presents a silhouette that highlights the space between the body and the dress. He uses pleats to create volume, and plays with the intersections of the skirt. "I focused my research on the abstraction of the body and chose the Dada movement, considered very avant-garde for its time, much like Balenciaga, who broke with social convention".

Dada movement

This project analyses the formal abstraction of the body. It draws on the work of artist Oskar Schlemmer, and his work "Triadic Ballett" (1922) in which the actors appear dressed as geometric shapes, and is inspired by the work of stage costume designers such as Sonia Biacchi.
